One magical
morning in Ellul

I saw two pale
clouds kissing.

Deep ultramarine
was engraved

between them like
a river meandering

between two giant
mountains in a picture

taken from the air,
then it narrowed

as they came closer
to each other

like the inspiration
of God's finger

in "the Creation"
in the Sistine Chapel.

In a moment of
grace they united:

one rain cloud
huge and black
